Vittorio Amedeo Cignaroli (Turin, 1730 - 1800) Landscape with bridge Oil on canvas, 118.5 x 132.5 cm SOLD The painter was born in Turin on April 15, 1730, into a family of Veronese origin, which had important artists active since the seventeenth century; his father Scipione, a native of Milan, was an illustrious landscape painter, active for the Savoy court since the beginning of the eighteenth century. The young Vittorio Amedeo certainly receives a first basic training from his father, who however dies in 1745, when Vittorio Amedeo is only fifteen years old; his true inclination therefore matures without the guidance and paternal support, even if the latter strongly influences his early works...
