[…] The studies presented by Galleria Giamblanco are among the works that Quadrone dedicated to the island of Sardinia and both come from the family of the painter and engraver Celestino Turletti (Turin, 1845-1904), promoter with Marco Calderini and Giuseppe Ricci of the Posthumous Exhibition of 1899 at the Società Promotrice delle Belle Arti in Turin and the monograph of the artist published in 1902. The panel with the Sardinian was put up for sale at 70 lire at the 1899 exhibition and was subsequently donated by Quadrone's widow to Lieutenant Colonel Vittorio Turletti, the author of the volume Attraverso le Alpi. Storia aneddotica delle Guerre di Montagna combattutesi dal 1742 al 1748 in difesa dell'Italia (Turin 1897). The writer had sought Quadrone's collaboration to illustrate his text, but Giovanni Battista had declined the invitation, suggesting the name of Giuseppe Ricci.
