PIETRO PAOLO RAGGI (?) (Genoa, 1627 - Bergamo, 1711) Hector's Farewell to Andromache, post 1703 Oil on canvas, 127 x 169 cm. Unpublished. The painting was recently purchased on the antique market as a possible work by Pietro Paolo Raggi, a Genoese artist from the second half of the 17th century, who worked between Genoa, Turin, and Bergamo, where he settled after 1690. During the restoration, the signature "Rosa" emerged along the left side of the canvas, perhaps to be understood as Rosa Raggi, daughter of the more famous Pietro Paolo, who took over her father's workshop during the last...(see catalog) [DELIA LACERENZA]
