The two large fruit pendants presented here represent an important addition to Michelangelo Cerquozzi's catalogue, as highlighted by an expertise by Ferdinando Arisi, which underlines their stylistic proximity to the artist's known painting "Two boys picking figs" owned by the Prado Museum in Madrid. Unfortunately, the reconstruction of this painter's biography suffers from a lack of ancient documents: the first notarized attestation we possess dates back to 1660 and is the artist's will, drawn up a few weeks before his death (it is significant to note that on this occasion the notary already refers to him as "celebrated").
