The canvas presented here, depicting the biblical episode of "Joseph and Potiphar's Wife" (Genesis 39, 6-20), should be chronologically placed in the thirties of the seventeenth century, in the phase of the master's early maturity: it seems to reinterpret, renewing it, a room painting by Vermiglio representing the same subject, now kept in a private collection and probably made for a Milanese client...
