Riccardo Pellegrini (Milan 1863 - Crescenzago 1934) Musketeer Oil on canvas cm 30 x 28 approx. RICCARDO PELLEGRINI Born in Milan on March 11, 1863, died in Crescenzago on March 31, 1934. He studied in his city, then in Rome, and in Naples with Domenico Morelli. He traveled in Spain, England, and France to deepen his artistic knowledge. In 1912 in London, he won the Muller house competition for the illustrations of Lesage's <>. He was then commissioned to illustrate <>. From then on, the main magazines in Europe had him as a collaborator. He rarely exhibited in Italy, but always with success. His sketch "Malia" is in the Art Museum of Berlin; "La ridda", in the Gofort Museum of Stuttgart; "The kiss of the sun", in the Goupil Gallery in Paris. The drawings made for <> were collected in a room dedicated to Pellegrini in the Glasgow Museum. At the Bottega di Poesia exhibition held in Milan in 1926 were: "A carpet market in Spain"; "Winter quiet"; "July sun"; "An August morning in Toledo"; "Sea of Valencia"; "The spouses".
